Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has made a startling revelation about a cyber crime incident involving his 13-year-old daughter, Nitara. Speaking at the launch of Maharashtra Police’s ‘Cyber Awareness Month’, the actor shared how his daughter narrowly escaped an online predator while playing a video game, highlighting the growing threat of cyber crimes—even within celebrity households.
🎮 Nitara Targeted While Gaming Online
Akshay recounted, “A few months ago, my daughter was playing an online video game. These games often allow interaction with strangers. During the game, she received a message asking, ‘Are you male or female?’ She clicked ‘female.’ Then came another message: ‘Can you send me your nude pictures?’”
He added that Nitara immediately shut down the game and informed her mother. “This is how it starts. This too is a form of cyber crime,” Akshay warned.
⚠️ Call for Cyber Education in Schools
Following the incident, Akshay approached Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging the government to introduce a weekly “Cyber Period” in schools for students from grades 7 to 10. “Children must be educated about the dangers of the internet. Cyber crime is becoming more dangerous than street crime,” he said.

🛡️ Cyber Crime: A Universal Threat
Akshay’s candid account underscores the urgency of cyber safety awareness. His appeal to the government aims to ensure that children across Maharashtra—and eventually across India—are equipped to recognize and respond to online threats.
The actor’s initiative has sparked conversations about digital safety, especially for minors, and the need for proactive measures to combat the rising tide of cyber exploitation.
