The election atmosphere in Bihar is heating up, and political equations are rapidly shifting. Prashant Kishore, the architect of the Jansuraj campaign, has dealt a major blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party by joining forces with senior party leader and four-time MLA Janardan Yadav. Yadav has resigned from the BJP and joined Jansuraj.
Prashant Kishore’s Political Move
For some time now, Prashant Kishore has been continuously attacking the top leadership of the BJP. Now, by bringing on board an experienced leader like Janardan Yadav, he has taken a major step towards strengthening Jansuraj. Jansuraj National President Uday Singh, alias Pappu Singh, said, “Janardan Yadav has a distinct identity in Araria politics. He is welcome to Jansuraj.”
Janardan Yadav Disillusioned with the BJP
Janardan Yadav, who has a strong support base in Araria district, launched a scathing attack on the NDA government, saying, “Migration, crime, and corruption are rampant in the state. The public is dissatisfied with the BJP MLA. Despite my defeat in 2015, I remained active among the public, but the top party leaders sidelined me.”
He further said, “I am impressed by Prashant Kishore’s thinking and vision. He is working to give a new direction to Bihar politics. Therefore, I have decided to contribute to the state’s development by becoming a member of Jansuraj.”
A Glimpse of His Political Journey
Janardan Yadav’s political journey began in 1977 on a Janata Party ticket, although he was disqualified due to his young age. He won a by-election in 1980 on a BJP ticket. He subsequently became a BJP MLA in 2000 and 2005, but faced defeat in 2015.
Janardan Yadav’s joining Jansuraj is being seen as a major political blow to the BJP in the Bihar elections. It remains to be seen what direction this change will play in state politics.
