Tragic Double Fatality in East Delhi: BJP Leader Drowns in Yamuna, Teen Biker Dies in Rescue Collision

A heartbreaking incident unfolded in East Delhi’s Sonia Vihar area on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals in separate but connected tragedies. Former BJP Karawal Nagar Mandal President Kuldeep Nainwal drowned in the Yamuna River while feeding fish, and a teenage motorcyclist lost his life after colliding with a fire brigade vehicle rushing to rescue Nainwal.

🚨 Sequence of Events

Early Saturday morning, Kuldeep Nainwal visited the Yamuna riverbank to feed fish—a routine spiritual practice. Unfortunately, he slipped and fell into deep water, leading to his drowning. Upon receiving the alert, a fire brigade team was dispatched to the scene for rescue operations.

However, en route to the river, the fire truck collided with a motorcycle, killing 17-year-old Rohit Pal, the rider. Shortly after, Nainwal’s body was recovered from the river and taken to Burari Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

👮 Police Investigation Underway

Delhi Police have seized the fire brigade vehicle and stated that preliminary findings suggest the motorcyclist was at fault due to reckless driving. The drowning case is being investigated by Burari Police Station, which will also oversee the circumstances surrounding both fatalities.

This tragic incident has cast a shadow over the community, raising concerns about emergency response safety and public awareness near water bodies.
